I’ve been hairdressing for 35 yrs +
I moved here from Scotland when I was 16.
Soon after I started an apprenticeship & completed my training with “Nick Jones”.
A well known, respected hairdresser in Swindon & within the industry.
With developing my craft & continuing to build my client base.
I also trained the apprentices, which gave me a taste for teaching.
After 12 years it was time to move on. With 2 other partners, we opened a salon together.
Along side my salon work, I was a part time Educator, teaching hairdressing at a Swindon college.
After several years in partnership I took the plunge & opened SLiNKY. I’ve never looked back. I absolutely love my job & all aspects of hairdressing. It’s an industry that I’m proud to be part of. There’s always something new & exciting to keep me motivated & inspired.
I’m best known for my precision cuts & attention to detail. Personalised colouring is also a passion. (I’ll let my work do the talking for me)! Working in the salon is like socialising with my friends, I just happen to do their hair at the same time. I also love being in a great team. Ours consists of pure talent, skill & knowledge.

Hey, I'm Helen, I've been hairdressing for 18 years, working at Slinky for 13 of those. (You could say I'm part of the furniture). I love my job and working within a great team. We always have a laugh, normally at me or something I've said. As well as having your hair done, I'll definitely entertain you!
I really like creating the latest trends in hair, so i keep myself up-to-date with regular courses.
I'm always on social media too, just keeping an eye on whats going on. My love for blonde shines through my work. Check out my social.
It's always a challenge when I'm confronted with someone who's dark, looking to start their blonde journey.
My services range from colouring to off-site wedding packages.
